| June 2008 to
August 2008 - Rochester, New York The
Ryba boys are dredging in Rochester and Irondequoit. We've made
ourselves at home at South Shore RV Park. Jo gets to bounce back
and forth between Sodus Point, New York and Alexandria, Ontario for the
summer. This is the closest she's been to home in years!!

| June 2008 -
Harpersfield, Ohio On
our way to Rochester, New York, we decided to stop off at Kenisee Grand
River Campground to visit with friends. What a big freaking
mistake that turned out to be. Kenisee USED TO BE one of our
favorite campgrounds, but after this weekend, we won't be back.
Here's the story...
Kenisee Grand
River is quite a large campground. They have very few full hook up
sites, most having metered water and electric. They have the worst
pull through section I've seen. It's not a great campground, but
the people who camp there are tops!! The biggest reason that
Kenisee isn't a great campground is simple - the owners. It
appears that the campground rules that they impose do not apply to
them. The owners have a husky name Thunder who is allowed to run
loose at all times (I wonder who picks up his poop??). The problem
is that this dog is NOT friendly. He has a reputation of attacking
other dogs at the campground. Rumor is that two dogs have been
killed already. Complaints have been made to the
owners, but these complaints fall on deaf ears. While we were
setting up our rig, Thunder came over to our lot. He proceeded to
pounce on our dog - who by the way was tied and could not get
away! I shudder to think of what might have happened had I not
been standing right there. After complaining to the office person,
and threatening to beat this dog should he return to attack again, I was
told that nothing would be done. Do I risk a huge vet bill or
worse - the death of my beloved pet - because some potato head has a
ticking time bomb in this campground in the form of a loose
husky?? Nope! Not gonna do it! We visited with
friends, hitched up, and left promising ourselves that we would never
return to this park. Now, here's how the park handled this
situation. After we left, we were blacklisted from the park, but
we only found this out through a friend. Kenisee has never
addressed us personally on this issue. It's unprofessional, to say
the least. If Thunder the disgruntled campground dog attacks again
- I hope the owners SUE! I'll gladly testify!! Kenisee...
the NOT so happy place!!

| August 2007 to May
2008 -
Cheboygan,
Michigan
We're back at Bev's place! Steve is busy
working on Mackinaw Island as Ryba puts in a new, state of the art
marina. The job will run all winter which means no going south for
us this year. Bummer!! Bev is getting ready to leave for
Florida so I'm going to stay at her place over the winter months.
Lucky for me, Bev's got a big wood stove. You know I'm going to
have that thing cranking BIG time. I've been spending my time
trapping mice, shooting squirrels and counting deer.

June 2007 to August 2007 - Manistee,
Michigan
As Steve works on a water outfall project in the city,
I spend my time teaching myself HTML. The pipe assembly
portion of Steve's work is taking place in an old coal yard. You
can't imagine how cruddy he is when he gets home. He's my dirty
white boy!
June/July 2007 Side Trip -
Alexandria, Ontario; I was planning a visit 'home' and
decided to hit the road the last week of June and first week of
July. I got to visit with a lot of family and friends and even
met my great-nephew Caleb for the very first time. He's a cutie
pie - looks like his Aunt Jo. I also attended a friend's 40th
birthday party while there. I can't believe we're all hitting
40!! Where in the heck did the time go?
July 5, 2007 Continued Side
Trip - Harpersfield, Ohio; While I was visiting in
Canada, Steve found out that he was going to have five days off over
July 4th weekend. So, he decided to fly up to Canada and join me
for a visit. On our way back to Manistee, MI, we decided to make
a bit of a detour to visit friends in Ohio. We had a great
time, as always! To add to an already great trip, Steve proposed
and I accepted. It was great to be surrounded by friends for the
special moment. However, Steve still owes me an evening of
romance - let's see how long it takes to make that
happen. We are such homebodies these days...

2007 - Cheboygan, Michigan
We pulled into Cheboygan on
Tuesday afternoon and parked ourselves at our friends' George and Bev's
place. They have a full RV hookup right in their yard.
Sadly, we found out Wednesday that George passed away. It was a
sad time and he will be greatly missed. Here's to you George!
You're my Superman!!
|
| April 2007 -
Harpersfield, Ohio
Steve had to handle a few leftovers from last fall's job in
Conneaut. We get to stay two weeks at Kenisee. It's just a
teaser, but we were really happy to see our buds again. We're
hanging out with our new friend Jane (Jack misses you Jane) and all the
old gang. We miss you guys!!
|
| April
2007 - Tennessee
We are spending part of our time in TN
parked next to our friends Reid and Debbie. We are staying at a
quaint little campground that caters to horse people. We're also
attending an
EOC
rally at Natchez Trace State Park. What a blast!

| December
2006 to March 2007 - Los Fresnos, Texas
What a hoot!
We're staying at Palmdale RV Resort for three months. When we
first arrived, the weather was cold and wet. It slowly started to
warm up and soon enough, we had some decent weather to enjoy. We
did get hit with a major rainstorm that dumped more water on us than
we've ever seen in our lives. We got flooded. Luckily, we
didn't incur any damage to our stuff. We're enjoying trips to
Mexico (viva Aribas and two-for-one margaritas!), days at the South
Padre Island beach and the company of some old and some new found
friends. Cathy came to visit and got sunstroke and airsick.
Did you have a good time Cathy?? Reg and Donna are really great to
hang with. They're making our winter fun! The Twisted
Sisters are always good for a laugh or two as well!!
|
| December
2006 - Rockport, Texas
We're spending the holidays at
Lagoons RV Resort with fellow
EOC
members George and Wilma.
Jo
agrees with George - she's not going to potlucks anymore.
|
| November
2006 - Geneva, Ohio
As Steve wraps up the job in Conneaut,
Jack and Jo are traveling to Canada for a six week visit home. It
was really nice to see everyone again. Jo got to
spend a lot of time with her brother-in-law Andre. She really got to
know him well, and thinks he's a pretty cool dude!
|
| August
2006 to October 2006 - Harpersfield, Ohio
Woohoo! We're
back at Kenisee. The party began before
we were even fully hooked up. Steve is working in Conneaut putting
in a new dock. Jo goofed off as usual.
|
| May
2006 to July 2006 - Dafter, Michigan
Steve is working at the
Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. We are staying at Clearlake
Campground and have a great view from our lot. Jo didn't think that
this park would be any fun at all - she was wrong. Hanging with
Shirley, Syd, Gary and Judy, and the rest of the motley crew is a hoot!
|
| April
2006 - Cheboygan, Michigan
We're in Cheboygan for about a
month as Steve is working at the company office. We're hanging
with George and Bev. Man! I can't keep up with these two -
they are such a riot!
|
| December
2005 to March 2006 - Lutz, Florida
We are staying at the
Encore RV Park here in Lutz for the winter. The park is crowded
and filled with really old folks. The only upside to this place is
that we get to see Chris and Kathy and the kids (furry ones).
|
| October
2005 to November 2005 - Harpersfield, Ohio
Steve is wrapping up work in
Geneva. Since Kenisee is closed for the season, we have moved a mile down the road
to R&R Campground. We got three feet of snow, it's freezing
out, the wind is howling off Lake Erie and it's time for us to get outta
here!
|
| June
2005 thru October 2005 - Harpersfield, Ohio
We are starting our travels at Kenisee Grand River
campground. Steve is splitting his time between a job in Cleveland
and one in Geneva-on-the-Lake. So far, Jo's really, really liking
this!
